EBO is a free-moving home companion robot and it is inevitable that human and pet hair will get stuck on its "feet" as it moves around the house. It is recommended that after a period of use, remove the wheels and clean the hair/dust with the instructional video.

If you find that the EBO does not move smoothly backward and forwards, it is likely that hair/dust is stuck in the wheels and this can usually be fixed by cleaning.

A: EBO SE does not come as standard.

EBO AIR does not come as standard but is available as an option. Also included are the EBO robot (with memory card), charging dock, USB charging cable, USB charging plug, card pin, and manual.

A: EBO AIR comes with a 32G memory card as standard, it is ready to use out of the box, with 64G/128G/256G options. EBO SE comes with a 16G memory card as standard, it is ready to use out of the box, with 32G/64G/128G/256G options.

A: EBO SE is not drop-proof. Please make sure that you do not place the EBO SE on a table, stairs, windowsill, etc. where it could be dropped for control or left unattended. When the battery is low, the EBO SE will try to go back to the charging dock to recharge, which may cause it to fall.

EBO AIR has anti-drop sensors on the left, right, and front of the body for drop protection. However, as the EBO is a sphere and small in size, the effectiveness of the drop sensor is closely related to speed and angle, so it is recommended that it is not placed in a high place where it can be dropped.

A: No. Currently, there is no interconnection between EBOs, EBOs can only be used with the device that installs the EBO App. If you are not an administrator, you will need to confirm your authorization before you connect and use the EBOs. 

A: EBO is constantly upgrading its skills, interactivity, and entertainment through firmware and software upgrades. However, EBO is not an AI robot that can be programmed.

A: EBO does not support Wi-Fi 6 protocol, it is compatible with versions below Wi-Fi 6. If you are using a router that supports Wi-Fi 6, it will work fine.

A: If EBO is in the charging dock for 24 hours, it consumes less than 1 kWh of electricity per month. EBO's daily power consumption for reference: EBO SE: between 24Wh ~ 54.72Wh, EBO AIR: between 36Wh ~ 63.84Wh. The minimum value, i.e. EBO is not on the charging dock, is the daily power consumption. The maximum value is not normally reached. For example, if the EBO SE is on the charging dock all day without coming down, the power consumption is about 24Wh (watt-hour), and 1000Wh = 1 kWh, so the power consumption of the EBO SE on the charging dock all day is about 24/1000, which is 0.024 kWh.

A: 1) Removal of the protective plastic sealing film. Please remove the plastic film on the EBO body, otherwise, it may cause the following effects: a. When the obstacle avoidance function is turned on, the film may affect the EBO to move forward when there is an obstacle in front of the EBO. b. It will also affect the heat dissipation of EBO. Please tear off the plastic sealing film at the bottom of the charging dock, then you can place the charging cock in a fixed place where you want to place the EBO for a long time to make sure the charging dock will not move casually and affect EBO auto recharge.  2) Correct placement of the charging stake: There are rules for the placement of the charging dock, otherwise it may affect EBO auto recharge. a. It is best to place the charging dock in an area with strong Wi-Fi network signal coverage. b. The charging dock can be placed against the wall, it can be fixed to the ground with tape, so as not to be moved and affect the auto recharge. c. The left and right sides of the charging dock need to keep an open area of about 0.6m respectively; the front of the charging dock needs to keep an open area with no obstacles about 2m so that the infrared guiding light sent from the charging dock can be recognized by  EBO and go back to the dock smoothly. d. The wire of the charging dock is recommended to be stored and hidden for aesthetic reasons and to avoid being chewed off by dogs and cats. 3) Strong network signal: EBO needs a stable Wi-Fi network when in command, therefore it is recommended that EBO should be placed in the same space as the router. If there is a floor or other room, it may lead to EBO network lag or disconnection. 4) Clean the wheels regularly: It is recommended to clean the dust/hair on the wheels at the bottom of the EBO every 2 weeks to ensure smooth movement. Otherwise, it may cause the EBO to move obstructed or not go in a straight line. 5) Be wary of restrooms: EBO is small in size with low chassis and it is easy to enter the restroom and dripping with water. It is recommended not to maneuver EBO into these dangerous areas and to place a slightly thicker (1cm) carpet at the door of the restroom to do the blocking. 6) Moderate sound mediation: EBO comes with a lovely bionic sound effect. If you and your family like to be quiet and undisturbed, you can set the volume to the lowest level in the APP (i.e., turn off the sound). 7) Prevent from being picked up by the dog: EBO's body design is small and compact, so it may be picked up by a larger dog with its mouth, which can easily cause EBO to fall and break. So, if you have a large dog, please take full consideration of having EBO at home.

Note: If your phone is set in [Dark Mode], EBO can't scan the code normally, please switch to [Day Mode]. When scanning the code, please keep a distance of 15cm between the EBO camera and the phone screen.

A: Yes. It is recommended that 1~2 people can control EBO at the same time.

A: The power button of EBO is the RESET button at the bottom of the body, which has multiple functions, as follows.

1) Power on: Long press the RESET button for 2 seconds (or place the EBO on the energized charging dock).

2) Power off: Press the RESET key continuously for 2 times.

3) Reboot: Tap the RESET key 1 time while the EBO is powered on.

4) Restore factory settings: Press and hold for more than 5 seconds until the EBO makes an "EBO" sound.

A: Please use the standard flat head pin or a small household screwdriver to remove the bottom wheel set and re-install it.

If there is still no response, please contact the after-sales service for assistance.

A: EBO is afraid of water, so please make sure to stay away from waterlogged surfaces. If the EBO accidentally gets into water, please turn off the power immediately (press the RESET button at the bottom 2 times to turn off the power), then remove the wheel set and dry it with paper towels, or blow dry it with a hairdryer. A: Yes. EBO will find the nearest charging dock to go back to when it is in auto-recharge mode.

A: No, it will not.  Normally, only when you set the [Cruise Security] or [E-Pet] function, EBO will come out from the dock and cruise or interact with your pet autonomously at the point of time you set. If EBO has the autonomy to come out from the charging dock, please check the settings on the EBO app page first. In addition, if EBO is not on the charging dock, or when it is on the charging dock but the charging dock is not properly powered up, the EBO robot will move around to "find" the charging dock and try to return to the charging dock when it is low on power.

A: The EBO robot is designed with a compact, small and cute look, it integrates many hardware devices with a small body while using a unique low view of the pet to facilitate interaction and communication with the pet. EBO Air and SE can cross carpets or door thresholds up to a height of about 0.5cm - 0.6cm.

A: Your account will never be automatically deleted once you have registered. First, make sure that your account and password were exported correctly when you logged back in. Secondly, if you log in with a brand new account, not the account that was previously registered, the device card in APP will be empty. Finally, if you have questions about the status of the account, you can contact our customer service to provide account information, we will check internally. For privacy and security considerations, we will confirm whether you are the actual owner of the product, thank you for your understanding!

A: Compared to ordinary fixed cameras, EBO robot has one major difference, that is, ordinary cameras are fixed and some might be equipped with a tripod head, while EBO robot can be remotely controlled and moved around the whole house, these two are not at all on the same level in terms of image change. In order to give EBO users a good image quality experience, the EBO robot does require a higher bit rate for image transmission and a higher network bandwidth requirement. (For more information, please refer to the network connection FAQ below) Code rate comparison distance: Compare to Hikon's IPC, whose 2-megapixel definition bit rate is only 130kB/s, the EBO robot bit rate is 500kB/s. The code rate of Hikon’s SD definition is 25kB/s, and the code rate of the EBO robot is 100kB/s.

A: When the SD card does not record properly or EBO wrongly detect showing no SD card, we can advise the customer to reset it, however, it should stress that if the user do not hear the "EBO bye" sound when pressing the reset button for 5 seconds, they should release it and try again, DO NOT keep pressing it longer for 5 seconds.

A: 1) Except in the case of question 21, try not to guide or let the user to perform a reset operation. (There is a difference between a reset and a reboot or shutdown)

2) Adverse effects of resetting: the user may ignore/can not hear the "EBO bye" sound and won't release the reset button when pressed for a long time, users may keep pressing it even if he hears the sound, then triggering a forced shutdown with a long press of 10 seconds. The forced shutdown will interrupt the reset process and power system down of EBO, also may cause other problems such as configuration file corruption. Therefore, DO NOT long press the reset button longer than 5 seconds.

A: he Memo of EBO Air can add words to record events, and can also add regular schedule reminders or to-do reminders.

A: 1) Enter the EBO App and adjust the definition of the view, from high, to medium or low.

2) Confirm the location of the EBO App from the router. If it is too far away, or if there is a floor or wall blocking it, it may cause the EBO network connection to be unstable and lagging.

3) If your EBO App shows "Device is offline, probably shut down, no power or no network" and your phone network is working fine, please check the current status of EBO at this time.  If EBO's heart-shaped light is flashing blue light normally, it may be far from the router, please bring EBO closer to the router, then restart the App or the App; 

If you find still can not solve the problem, please restore the factory settings of the device and rebind.

A: No, we will notify you in advance of any firmware upgrade. It is recommended that to place the EBO connection within the Wi-Fi/router where the strongest signal and the widest coverage area.

A: EBO supports 2.4G and 5G, if both are available, it is recommended to connect to the 5G band.

A: It is recommended to be ≥12Mbps.

A: 1. [Cache]: The router is always on, and the internal cache will gradually increase, affecting the data transmission speed, resulting in slower Wi-Fi Internet access and lag.
2. [Overheating]: The router is always on, which will cause internal overheating, and the high working temperature will reduce the efficiency of the router and affect the Wi-Fi quality.

3. The router is always on and working under high load, and the device is prone to aging. Even gigabit fiber optic may become "slow speed", resulting in network latency and other problems, slowing down the network speed.

4. [Interference]: Wi-Fi signals are susceptible to interference, almost every home today has a Wi-Fi router, and it is common to have the same Wi-Fi channel, this interference with the same band will lead to slow Wi-Fi Internet speed and card.

 

Suggestion: Turn off or restart the router on a daily regularly to make the Wi-Fi signal faster and more stable.

A: Because the phone will go dynamically switch different SIM cards according to the network situation, which may lead to the use of traffic that can not be connected to EBO. It is recommended to connect to 1 SIM card mobile data, the iOS system in the phone settings page will allow switching cellular data off. You can find the cellular setting on Android phones.

A: Point the EBO camera at the charging dock and observe from the APP screen whether the charging dock emits 3 purple light sources at the semi-permeable shell. If the light emits normally, make sure there are no obstacles within 0.6 meters to the left and right of the charging dock and 2 meters in front of it, and then click . If EBO cannot return to the charging dock for a long time, contact the after-sales service and help to upload the device log.

EBO relies on the guiding light from the charging dock, combined with its traversal algorithm to automatically return to the charging dock for charging. If the charging dock is blocked from the front, back, left, and right, causing EBO to be unable to receive the guiding light, EBO may not be able to find the charging dock. At this time, EBO will send a push notification via the APP to remind you to help it return to the charging dock. 

Suggestion: If EBO is located far away from the charging dock, its location cannot be covered by the guiding light from the charging dock, or there are too many obstacles in your home, it is recommended to manually control EBO in the vicinity of the charging dock,  then click .  Customers can also order 1 or more charging docks,  EBO will choose the first one that is identified first to return to the charging dock during the return process.

A: First, please check if the indicator light on the top of the charging dock is normal. When the charging dock is not charging, it shows a green light; when the charging dock is charging EBO, it shows a red light. 

Note: Sometimes when you hold EBO by hand and put it back on the charging dock, it may not be aligned with the charging probe, which can be identified by the indicator light on the charging dock, which turns from green to red, indicating that it is charging.

Secondly, you can try to replace another USB plug.

For the SE version, you can use the standard flat-head card pin or a small screwdriver, remove the bottom wheel set, check whether the probe is normal, and then re-install it. 

For the Air version, no need to use tools, directly using the switch can be removed.

A: EBO can last 4~6 hours when fully charged, which can meet the normal demand in use,  it has the function of auto-recharge, so it can be charged back to the pile at any time after each use, so there is no need to worry about the endurance time.

A: It can be energized all the time to ensure that the EBO remains fully charged as long as it is on the charging dock. Also, in this way at any time EBO can automatically return to the charging dock to be charged when the battery is low.

At the same time, EBO has a built-in BMS battery management system, which can effectively manage and maintain every battery cell, prevent the battery from overcharging or over-discharging, prolong the life of the battery and monitor the status of the battery.

A: It takes about 1 hour to charge the EBO from 30% to 80%. However, EBO does not actually need to be fully charged; if it runs out of power during use, EBO will automatically charge back to the dock.

A: In an unobstructed environment, EBO can be about 6 meters away from the charging pile and still can receive the signal from the dock, it can automatically return to the dock to charge. Even if it is beyond that distance or obscured by obstacles, EBO will wander around the house purposefully looking for the charging dock.

A: Remove the plastic sealing film: check whether the plastic sealing film on EBO is torn off, if not please tear it off and see if it can be solved.

A: If the speed setting is low, and the radius of EBO left/right turn is large, please set the [Device Settings] to turn [Moving Speed] up.

A: First look to see if the plastic sealing film on the EBO body has been removed. If it has been removed and there is still lag, the possible reason is that the cell phone network or the Wi-Fi network you are connected to is not stable enough.

A: EBO is designed with rubber tires for movement, it is normal to have a slight shake on the ground where there is high friction with the rubber contact.

A: 1) If EBO comes out from the charging dock, please check whether the Cruise Security is set.

2) If the EBO is on the charging dock and the charging dock is not energized, EBO will also come out from the charging dock if its power is below 50%.

3) If the EBO is not on the charging dock and moves on its own, check if patrol security is set. If it is not set, the EBO will automatically go back to the charging dock for charging when the power is low.

4) If the charging dock is placed on the ground and a pet or someone accidentally touches it, resulting in poor contact between the EBO and the charging dock and losing normal charging, the EBO will also come down from the charging dock when it is low.

A: 1) Click the [Sleep Mode] button on the lower right corner of the device card, then EBO will enter the sleep mode. During the sleep mode, all the functions of EBO will be disabled. You can click on the button to wake up EBO at any time.

2) Go to the setting page and set the no-disturb time. EBO will automatically enter into hibernation mode during the set time every day. Click the [Sleep Mode] button at the bottom right corner to wake EBO up at any time and ends the Do Not Disturb mode in advance.

A: [Anti-Collision Assist] is designed to prevent EBO from hitting obstacles during movement, and the principle relies on the single TOF inside EBO to achieve this. If there are a lot of obstacles in the place, collisions may occur due to a lack of detection, which is normal.

A: 1) When you exit the EBO APP on the phone, if the battery level of EBO is below 50%, EBO will enter the automatic recharge state. This can be assisted by controlling the EBO within 2 meters of the charging dock on the APP so that it can return to the charging dock soon. 2) If the Cruise Security is set, EBO will automatically come out to patrol and return to the dock to charge automatically after the patrol is finished.

A: Please check the wheel set: Check the wheel bearings for hair or any object blockage, you can refer to the tutorial, and use the standard flat head pin to unscrew the screws to clean the bottom wheel.

Note: Be sure to disassemble the entire wheel set for cleaning. The hair on the wheel set bearings may not be easily visible without disassembly, so be sure to disassemble and make sure the tracks and axles on the wheel set are thoroughly cleaned.

Check the bearings: Check if each wheel rotation is normal. If you find they can not move, please contact customer service directly to send them back for replacement or return them for repair.

A: This is very normal. After all, EBO is a "new" member of the family thus the cat will feel unfamiliar when it sees it. To avoid frightening the kitten, you can control it a little softer and slower in the early stage, so that the kitten can slowly adapt. At the same time, you can use the EBO function to tease the cat and interact with it, and you can also talk to the cat remotely to let it know it is your voice so it can gradually adapt.

A: This is a normal phenomenon. Puppies are naturally inclined to chew things. For safety reasons, it is recommended that the cord be bestowed and hidden during installation. At the same time, a slightly larger dog may pick up EBO with its mouth, which may lead to falling damage, so if you happen to have a dog, please pay attention.

A: 1. When the EBO Air laser is turned on, the machine moves normally, and the laser shines on the ground to attract the cat to interact. Skills such as turning around may pass through the cat's body very briefly and the cat's reaction is not so fast. Under normal control, it will not shine into the air or directly into the cat's eyes. 2. EBO Air's laser is of < CLASS 1 > grade after laser safety certification, which is safe under all normal use conditions and will not cause damage to the human body or skin under any conditions. 3. EBO Air's laser is irradiated through the semi-transparent shell of the machine, and the light intensity will be weakened again.

A: When you use EBO to take photos and videos, the EBO App automatically caches the footage, the quality of the footage is affected by the network and the resolution of the screen preview, you may be dissatisfied with the quality of the footage or the footage may lag. In this case, you can download the original HD footage stored on the SD card of the EBO camera by clicking on "Album".

A: EBO's current motion detection function does fail to detect moving objects if they are not moving far enough from the EBO (e.g., about 3-4 meters). If you need EBO to watch the door for you, you can place the EBO and the charging dock closer to the door so that the EBO will be more likely to detect the movement of people entering and leaving the door.

A: EBO must stay on the electric stake (keep charging) continuously when running the [Timed Recording] security function. If the EBO is operated away from the charging station, the EBO will automatically exit the timed recording.

In addition, if you set EBO to [Sleep Mode], EBO will also exit timer recording.
